Good to know: The FunPark is in Zirndorf, outside Nuremberg’s Old Town. Tickets for the Kaiserburg, the Albrecht-Dürer-Haus and the Memorium Nuremberg Trials (Courtroom 600) are not in our feed – buy them at the venue or on its official site.

Frequently asked questions

How do I get from Nuremberg Airport to the Old Town?

The U2 runs from the airport to the main station in about 13 minutes, usually every ten minutes, and the Old Town is a short walk from there. A taxi or private transfer is rarely worth it unless you have heavy luggage or arrive very late.

When is the Christkindlesmarkt in 2026, and do I need a tour?

The Christkindlesmarkt runs from 27 November to 24 December 2026, daily from 10 am to 9 pm and on Christmas Eve until 2 pm. Entry is free, so a tour is optional: the guided offers on this site, from €15, add food and history rather than access.

Is a guided tour of the Rally Grounds worth it, or can I go alone?

You can go alone: tram 6 or 8 stops at Doku-Zentrum, where the documentation centre charges €7.50 admission in 2026. A guided walk of about 2 hours costs €13 on this site; check the offer page for the tour language.

Which underground tour should I pick first?

The Medieval Dungeons tour (45 minutes, €10) and the Tunnels and Secret Passages tour (1 hour, €12) are the most-reviewed, with 2,509 and 3,205 reviews. The Rock Corridors (€16), the Art Bunker (€12) and the Nuclear Bunker (75 minutes, €13) cover different parts of the same story, so pick by theme.

Can I visit Nuremberg as a day trip from Munich, and what about Bamberg or Rothenburg?

Yes: the ICE from Munich takes about an hour, and the Old Town and the Rally Grounds fill a full day. Bamberg, Regensburg and Rothenburg are separate towns with their own tours; this site lists tours that start in Nuremberg, so it has no day trips to them.

Is the 48-hour CityCard worth buying?

It costs €38 on this site (669 reviews) and includes free public transport. Most of the Old Town is walkable, so it pays off mainly if you also ride out to the Rally Grounds, the Germanisches Nationalmuseum or the airport; check the offer page for which attractions it covers before you buy.

Are the tours in English?

Many are, but not all. Popular offers such as The Old Town in Evening Light run in German only, and several theatre, crime and Christmas tours are in German too. The tour title or the offer page states the language; look at it before you book.

Is the PLAYMOBIL FunPark in Nuremberg?

It is in Zirndorf, just outside the city, not in the Old Town. It is the most-reviewed ticket on this site (1,001 reviews, €13.90); check the offer page for the opening times and how to get there before you plan the day around it.
